A year after our diagnosis I'm still sorting out all the lingo.
Echolalia:
When AKA will grab a snippet of something that was said and repeat it to herself. Sometimes these will stick and fall into the perseveration category, to be repeated mercilessly, for all time.
I think it also applies to when AKA used to say things exactly how she heard them to communicate needs like "help you," "carry you," etc. -- instead of "me."
Perseveration:
When AKA repeats something she heard someone say...for years. Never know when she'll blurt out these little gems, out of context, and I have to translate to others in our company that it's just something stuck on replay, and not relevant to the situation.
Scripting:
When AKA uses the same "script" to communicate the same thing, without any variation, such as every day, throughout the day, she constantly announces to me, "Look where we are going!" This is actually a question meaning, "What am I doing today?" or "Where am I going today?"
