After school, walking to the car. She asked for water.
I said: "Sorry. I don't have any in the car today. We'll have to get some at home."
She said: "No! No home! I don't have a HOME! I have a HOUSE!"
She pointed across the street, to houses.
She said: "Those are houses."
I said: "Yes. They are. People call those their HOME."
She said: "No! No people! I am not a PEOPLE!"
I said: "Okay..." and then "oh boy..." under my breath as I was helping her into her carseat.
She yelled: "I am not a BOY!!!"
And that's when I gave up the conversation. That's all you can do with her. Just back away and try to disengage, or she'll take you right down the rabbit hole with her.
